(ADDISON, Ill., Dec. 3)—The McKendree College hockey team reeled off its sixth consecutive win with an 8-3 victory Saturday at Robert Morris College.

      The Bearcats raced to a 5-0 lead in the second period and never looked back to even its record at 12-12-1. McKendree will in Iowa City, Iowa, next Friday and Saturday to face the University of Iowa.

      Sophomore center Scott Roberts (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) (Philadelphia, Pa./Bensalem) and freshman center/wing Nick Dreyer (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) each scored two goals to lead the offensive surge for McKendree. Sophomore center/wing Kyle Ilges (Highland, Ill./Highland) (Highland, Ill./Highland) chipped in with three assists, while junior defenseman Brent Grimm (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) and sophomore defensemen Matt Defranco (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania/) (Bensalem, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic) and Shawn McBride (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) each had two assists in the win.

      Junior Marcus Power (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon) (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon) made 36 saves to earn his seventh victory of the season. Power has won each of his last three starts for the Bearcats.
